Artist's Comments

This was a project for my drawing class. The theme was "A Pop of Color", so the only color I used was the stripes on the lionfish. I was quite pleased with how it turned out.

It also cleverly symbolizes Pirates of the Caribbean, which my teacher vetoed as a drawing topic early on.

White Prismacolor on black paper, graphite on white paper.

Lovely. Lovely. So this is what you do when you can't draw Pirates? Chuckles. :-)

Yeup. My art teacher wouldn't allow me, so I amused myself with symbolism. Note that the chest is the Dead Man's chest. There's the octopus for Davy Jones, the starfish for Bootstrap Bill, and the lionfish is for Will. For an explanation of the lion fish, see my favorites. ^__^
